World Health Organization delivers humanitarian supplies worth over $4 million to the Republic of Uzbekistan
As part of COVID-19 pandemic response, WHO Regional Office for Europe, supported by WHO Country Office in Uzbekistan, delivered to the Republic of Uzbekistan a total of nearly 85 tons of humanitarian supplies worth over $4 million procured by WHO HQ via the global COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
The humanitarian supplies were delivered in two steps. The first shipment arrived in Tashkent on July 8 and included 619,400 face shields and 2,176,000 surgical masks. The second shipment was delivered to the capital on July 17. It included personal protective equipment, namely, 95,200 goggles, 178,000 gowns, 12,000 surgical masks, and 1,064,000 KN95 respirators.
The supplies are to be donated to the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The humanitarian supplies are part of assistance rendered to Uzbekistan by the World Health Organization.
